Melanie is 22 and from Allen, Texas. She has been dancing since she was three and has assisted national dance conventions such as Tremaine, L.A. Dance Magic, and Company Dance. She recently graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor in accounting. Melanie was a SHSU dance scholarship recipient for the 2004-2008 school years. She also spent the summer of 2006 in Chicago dancing on scholarship at Giordano Jazz Company. Melanie has performed works by Pattie Obey, Salim Gauwloos, jhon stronks, Peter Chu and Kate Skarpetowska while at the Met. She also teaches at several studios in the Houston Area. This is her second season with the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company.
